Pencil pleat curtains have a classic and timeless elegance. Folds of fabric are tightly gathered to create a semi-cylindrical heading that resembles a line of pencils, hence pencil pleat curtain.

From the closely gathered  pleats of the header, the fabric tumbles freely to the floor. You can choose to hang pencil pleat curtains from either curtain classic  poles or curtain tracks, and they come in two depths to suit different scale rooms.  Making these an extremely versatile choice of header. 

Comprising of hand-sewn pleats which gather the curtain fabric into neat folds, pinch pleat headings present a sophisticated, classic, elegant look.

We offer two variations of the pinch pleat; double pinch pleat and triple pinch pleat.

The choice between double and triple pinch pleat comes down to personal preference, with triple using more fabric but delivering an even fuller drape.

Pinch pleat headings offer good stack back too, with the concertina action of the pleats meaning that the curtains do not take up to much space when pulled back. However, as the fabric between the pleats does fold back, curtains with this heading must be installed on a pole or track with good clearance from the wall. 

Both double and triple pencil pleat curtains can be hung on any type of curtain track or pole.

Eyelet curtains are still a popular choice for those looking for a simple and neat curtain style.  They have metal rings (eyelets) at the top, allowing the curtain pole to slide through easily. Goblet pleats are a detailed heading style, similar in look to pinch pleat curtains. Tucked and folded, goblet pleats are open at the very top to give a ‘goblet’ or ‘wineglass’ look. They can be hung from a track or a pole.
